AI prompt: job-booking confirmation text for home services
A copy-and-paste AI prompt that writes the text a plumber, HVAC company, electrician, roofer, painter or other home services business sends right after a customer books: the job, the date and arrival time, the address, what to do before the visit and how to change it, using only the details you type in, with no invented times, prices, technician names or promises.
When to use it
A customer has just booked a job by phone, text or your website, and you want them to get one short, accurate text that confirms what is booked, when you are arriving and where, tells them anything they need to do before the visit, and says how to change it, so they can plan their day around it.
- Copy the prompt below.
- Replace every
{{VARIABLE}}with your own details (see the list under the prompt). - Paste it into the AI chat tool you already use.
- Read the result against the checklist before you use it.
The prompt
You are helping a home services business write the text message (SMS) it sends to a customer right after they book a job. The text confirms the booking. It must only contain details the business has typed in below, because the customer will plan their day around it.
BOOKING
- Business name: {{BUSINESS_NAME}}
- Type of business: {{BUSINESS_TYPE}}
- Customer's first name: {{CUSTOMER_NAME}}
- What is booked (copy word for word): {{JOB}}
- Date and arrival time (copy word for word): {{DATE_TIME}}
- Service address (copy word for word), or "none": {{ADDRESS}}
- What the customer should do before the visit (copy word for word), or "none": {{BEFORE_VISIT}}
- How to change or cancel (copy word for word): {{CHANGE_LINE}}
- Opt-out line (copy word for word), or "none": {{OPT_OUT_LINE}}
LAYOUT
Write the text in exactly this layout, with each part on its own line. Do not leave any blank lines between parts. Parts in square brackets are instructions, not words to copy.
Hi {{CUSTOMER_NAME}}, this is {{BUSINESS_NAME}}. Your {{JOB}} is booked for {{DATE_TIME}}.
[Line 2, only if the service address above is not "none": "Address: " followed by the service address, word for word. If it is "none", leave this line out and go straight to the next part.]
[Line 3, only if the before-the-visit line above is not "none": that line, word for word. If it is "none", leave this line out and go straight to the next part.]
[Line 4: the change or cancel line above, word for word.]
[Last line, only if the opt-out line above is not "none": that line, word for word. If it is "none", leave this line out.]
RULES FOR THE TEXT
1. Use only the details above. Do not invent or change any date, day, time, arrival window, address, name, phone number, link or price.
2. Do not add anything the business did not say: no technician names, no "we will text or call before we arrive", no reminders, no reply-to-confirm request, no prices, fees, quotes, estimates, warranties, guarantees or promises about how long the job takes.
3. Include every part of the layout that is not "none", and nothing else. Never write the word "none" in the text. Say each thing once and do not repeat any sentence.
4. Plain words, short sentences, no emojis, no hashtags, no exclamation marks.
Before you answer, check your text: if any line is the word "none", delete that line.
Return only the finished text message and nothing else.What to fill in

- What you do and where, in a few words.

Model: Qwen3-4B-Instruct-2507 (Q4_K_M GGUF), llama.cpp server b11853, run locally, temperature 0.4. Tested on . Edits: None. The words are exactly as the model returned them, apart from removing spaces at the ends of lines. All 8 runs with this prompt and these inputs passed the automatic checks (the first line, the job, the date and time, the address, the before-the-visit line, the change line and the opt-out line copied exactly, each part on its own line, no blank lines, no other numbers or days, no prices, quotes, technician names, arrival promises, reminders or reply-to-confirm requests, no repeated sentences) and a manual read. We ran the same prompt for 8 runs each on four other fictional businesses: a painter with no address, no before-the-visit line and no opt-out line, an HVAC company with its own opt-out wording, an electrician with no opt-out line, and a roofer with no before-the-visit line in the middle of the text. All 32 passed both checks; when a line was "none", the model left it out. The runs were word for word the same, because the model mostly reuses your own lines, so the text is only as good and as true as what you put in. Earlier drafts failed: one let the model word the first line itself (it wrote "We're booking your" and "You have booked water heater replacement" and once left a blank line), and one wrote the word "none" on its own line and put the lines out of order when a line in the middle was "none". AI output varies between runs and models, so always review it before posting.
Check before you post
- The day and the date match on a calendar. The AI copies whatever you type, including a wrong weekday.
- The arrival time or window is one you can keep. If you only know a window, give the window, not a single time.
- The address is the service address, not the billing address, and it is spelled the way the customer wrote it.
- The change or cancel line names a way that someone actually answers, and the phone number is copied exactly.
- No prices, quotes, technician names or promises to text before you arrive unless you added them yourself and they are true.
- Only text people who have agreed to get texts from you, and honor every opt-out. Check what your texting or booking software already adds, such as its own opt-out wording or its own confirmation, so the customer does not get two.
- Before you switch it on, book a test job for yourself and read exactly what arrives on your phone.
