When to use it

You are setting up or refreshing a Google Ads search campaign for a local service (plumbing, cleaning, landscaping, repairs) and need a full set of responsive search ad headlines and descriptions that fit Google's character limits and only say things that are true about your business.

  1. Copy the prompt below.
  2. Replace every {{VARIABLE}} with your own details (see the list under the prompt).
  3. Paste it into the AI chat tool you already use.
  4. Read the result against the checklist before you use it.

The prompt

You are helping a local service business write the text for one Google Ads responsive search ad. Google mixes and matches the headlines and descriptions, so every line must make sense on its own and next to any other line.

BUSINESS
- Business name: {{BUSINESS_NAME}}
- Main service to advertise: {{SERVICE}}
- City or area served: {{AREA}}
- What makes us different (real facts only): {{DIFFERENTIATORS}}
- Current offer, or "none": {{OFFER}}
- What we want people to do: {{CALL_TO_ACTION}}
- Anything the ad must not say or promise: {{DO_NOT_MENTION}}

WRITE
- 15 headlines. Google's hard limit is 30 characters per headline, counting spaces and punctuation. Aim for 2 to 4 short words and no more than 25 characters, so nothing goes over.
- 4 descriptions. Google's hard limit is 90 characters per description, counting spaces and punctuation. Aim for one sentence of 8 to 12 words and no more than 80 characters.

RULES
1. Use only the facts given above. Do not invent ratings, reviews, awards, years in business, licenses, guarantees, prices, discounts, response times, numbers or statistics. Do not add praise or speed words that are not in the facts above, such as best, #1, top-rated, leading, trusted, reliable, expert, honest, fast, quick, same-day, affordable or cheapest, and do not write "no hidden costs" or "no surprises". If the offer is "none", do not mention any offer.
2. Mix the headlines: at least 3 that include the service, at least 2 that include the city or area, exactly 1 that is the business name, at least 3 based on what makes us different, and at least 2 calls to action.
3. Every headline and description must be different in wording and in meaning. Never write the same line twice, and never write two lines that differ only by a hyphen, the word order or one small word.
4. Write in normal sentence case or title case. No words in all capitals, no exclamation marks in headlines, no more than one exclamation mark in all the descriptions, no repeated punctuation, no emojis and no symbols used for decoration.
5. Do not put a phone number, email address or web address in any line.
6. Build every line only from the business name, the service, the area, the facts under "What makes us different", the offer and the call to action. If a line says something that is not in those facts, delete it and write a new one.
7. Write natural, grammatical English that reads well on its own. Do not drop small words such as "we" or "and" if the line stops making sense. If a fact is too long for a headline, use one part of it in full words instead of squeezing it.
8. Keep lines short. Cut words until each headline is 25 characters or fewer and each description is 80 characters or fewer. Leave the state off the city name in headlines if the line is getting long.

FORMAT
Before you answer, read every line again. Rewrite any line that is over the limit, repeats another line, or uses a word or claim that is not in the facts, such as reliable, honest, trusted, fast or "no hidden costs".

Return two numbered lists with these two labels and nothing else.

Model: Qwen3-4B-Instruct-2507 (Q4_K_M GGUF), llama.cpp server b11853, run locally, temperature 0.4. Tested on . Edits: None, apart from removing spaces at the ends of lines. The words are exactly as the model returned them. We checked the lengths ourselves: the longest headline is 27 characters and the longest description is 66. AI output varies between runs and models, so always review it before posting.

Check before you post

  • Count the characters in every line yourself, spaces included: headlines can be no more than 30 and descriptions no more than 90. AI models often miscount, so don't trust a count the AI gives you.
  • Every claim is true and came from your inputs. Delete anything the AI added, such as ratings, years in business, prices, guarantees, response times or words like best, trusted or fast.
  • No two lines say the same thing. Google combines headlines and descriptions in different orders, so each one has to make sense next to any other.
  • No words in all capitals, no exclamation marks in headlines, no repeated punctuation or emojis, and no phone number in the ad text. Use Google's call and location features for contact details instead.
  • Any offer in the ad is real and current, and its terms are on the page the ad sends people to.
  • The page the ad links to talks about the same service and area as the ad.
